Hello, I'm Lileigh

I am so glad you’ve found your way here.

My name is Lileigh, and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor dedicated to providing a warm, safe, and supportive space for you to explore whatever is on your mind.

Who I am and my approach

Why I chose a counselling career

My journey into person-centred counselling began with my own experience as a client. It was here that I experienced the healing potential of a holding space; that is, a safe therapeutic relationship which functioned not only as a container for my most vulnerable self, but also as a catalyst for personal growth. From this experiencing, a deep-seated belief in the healing power of being heard, seen and truly felt was born within me.

My approach

I work in a person-centered way, which means I believe that when you are met with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence, you can begin to heal and grow. I focus on creating this safe, caring and compassionate environment during our time together. I truly believe that you are the expert on your own life. Because of this, our sessions are led by you. I am not here to tell you what to do or give you advice; instead, I will be right by your side, moving at your pace as we explore whatever feels heavy, messy or scary. My goal is to listen deeply and understand your feelings as if they were my own, offering you a gentle and steady presence while you navigate your path forward. Together, we will create a therapeutic holding space where you feel truly understood and supported as you work through your troubles.

Qualifications and background

I am trained and qualified at postgraduate level 7 in person-centred counselling.

I am a fully registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I attend regular supervision to ensure my practice is grounded, safe and attuned to your needs.

Before going into private practice, I worked as a volunteer counsellor within two charities. My work experience prior to counselling has been in mental health settings, predominantly in the community.

Alongside my private practice, I work therapeutically with individuals impacted by rape and sexual abuse. The trauma informed lens required for my employed role is embedded into my way of being.

What I offer

Free initial consultation

We can start with a free 20-minute consultation online or by phone. It's a gentle chance for us to connect and for you to ask any questions that may feel important to know before making a decision about working therapeutically together.

Please know, there is no pressure for you to make a decision within this 20 minute initial meeting.

Short and long term therapy

You may have a short term therapy goal, a desired long term therapeutic journey or, you may not quite know how long you'd like to access therapy - and that's okay. We can discuss what you would like from our counselling process withing our first session and, together, discuss how we will review this.

Online and telephone

We can meet over the phone or online, so you can receive support from the comfort of home. This makes it easier to fit our sessions into your daily routine.

Passion for Perinatal

For many, experiences within pregnancy and postpartum can be the most fulfilling and yet, the most challenging. While pre-existing mental health struggles can reappear with force, new unfamiliar struggles can also creep up and surprise you.

Becoming a mother leaves no woman as it found her. It unravels her and rebuilds her. It cracks her open, takes her to her edges. It's both beautiful and brutal, often at the same time.'  -

Nikki McCahon, Matrescence Educator.

'Matrescence' describes the profound developmental process of becoming a mother, impacting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. The impact of this significant life shift affects the entire family, as fathers/partners can also experience challenges like postnatal depression.

Whatever your perinatal experience—be it a disconnect from a changing body, the echoes of a difficult birth, or the exhaustion of sleepless nights—you are not alone.

If you feel lost in your new world, mourning your old identity, confidence and independence, or simply unsupported during this massive transition, I offer a kind and steady hand to help you find your footing once again.Within this gentle environment, you have the opportunity to pause, breathe and rediscover your inner resources. Whether you need a safe container to release your frustrations or, a quiet moment to regain your balance, our sessions provide the emotional anchor you need to thrive (or even simply survive) through this transition.
